Volunteering

The Shire Libraries welcome volunteers who would like to give back to their community. Volunteering encourages learning, sharing skills and is a great way to meet people and stay actively involved in your community.

Tasks

Volunteering tasks at the Shire Libraries are mainly shelving and shelf-checking, assisting with hosting events, helping in the organic garden and end processing of library stock.

Shelving is the highest priority task at present and our volunteers usually offer up one hour per week to help us get through it all.

How to volunteer

Register your interest in volunteering by contacting the library by phone or email and the Coordinator Library Operations will get in touch to talk about how we can help each other.

Library staff will provide an induction into being a volunteer and teach you on the job how tasks are completed.
