Introducing Our New eNews! ‘Leeuwin Current’

We’re excited to announce a brand new eNewsletter named ‘Leeuwin Current’ launching on Friday 25 August!

It’s designed to be an easy-to-read weekly update on Shire news, events, public notices, and community consultations delivered straight to your inbox.

Whether you’re interested in local government decisions that affect you, the chance to attend upcoming Shire events or the opportunity to have your say on topics from local dog laws to Recreation Centre services or planning decisions, Leeuwin Current will help make sure you don’t miss the chance to connect and contribute. 

With a familiar and user-friendly format, Leeuwin Current aims to bridge the gap for community members who may not use social media but who still prefer a digital format. 

The newly launched platform was named Leeuwin Current as a play on the warm ‘Leeuwin’ current that hugs our beautiful coastline and the need to keep residents up to date with ‘Current’ news and events, ensuring every individual has access to information in a format that works for them. 

The primary objective of Leeuwin Current is to showcase the vibrancy of our community and empower residents with timely and relevant news.

Each week, subscribers can expect snippets across a variety of projects and initiatives with links to the Shire’s website for the full stories. It will also provide a gateway into the Shire’s YourSay platform for those who want to put their views forward for consideration on open community consultations.
