It’s Time for a Street Party!

We all love a great street party!

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River has partnered with the Pair’d wine and food festival to bring the Margaret River Main Street to life for a full day of community celebrations.

The Street Party will be managed by the Shire, Ahoy Management and Mellen Events as the finale of the Pair’d festival, but more importantly for us, it’s an opportunity to celebrate everyone in our community who contributes to our busy summer season.

Nick Byrne, the Shire’s Director Sustainable Economy and Communities wasn’t here for our previous Main Street party but has heard that it set a high bar.

“Our community have consistently asked for a repeat of the 2021 street party,” he explains.

“It’s the perfect way to bring us all together and say thank you to everyone - from hospitality workers to tour operators and our patient residents - who welcome visitors throughout the busy summer season.”

Shire President Julia Meldrum agrees that the Street Party will be a great tribute to our local community.
“After a long winter we’ll all be keen to get out and celebrate with our friends and families. We’re hoping this year’s Street Party will give us the pre-summer boost that we need to get us through our busiest time of year.”

The schedule for the Street Party is yet to be finalised, and the Shire and event managers will consult with Main Street traders and extend and EOI on how local businesses and creatives can get involved over the next few weeks.
