Let’s Work Together to Protect Wooditjup Bilya (Margaret River)

Earlier this week there was some disruption to the natural course of the Margaret River at the Rivermouth.

It may be tempting, but digging out the sand bar and opening the Rivermouth drains the river for the rest of the year – with little chance of replenishment as we head into the dry summer season.

Low water levels threaten the health of the river, putting flora and fauna at risk as temperatures rise and their protection is impacted.

Please encourage your kids, friends and family to let nature takes its course. The more water that’s retained in the lower reaches of the estuary over the summer months, the better it is for the river’s water quality and its fragile ecosystem.
