Much of the Shire of Augusta Margaret River is in a Bushfire Prone Area.

When travelling to the region, especially in the warmer months, it is important to stay up to date and to be prepared for a bushfire.

Campfires

Please note that all campfires are prohibited during the Prohibited Burning Period.  

Only gas-fuelled cooking appliances are permitted without a permit during this period (penalties apply). 

Outside of these dates, campfires are permitted in the fire rings provided at authorised campgrounds only.  Use the firewood provided in designated areas.
