Beach Lifeguards Return To Rivermouth

Surf Life Saving WA beach lifeguards return for their third season of service patrolling the popular Margaret River Mouth Beach over the busy summer period.

Contracted by the Shire of Augusta Margaret River, the service will see lifeguards patrolling seven days a week between 10am and 5pm until Sunday 23 April 2023.

As the holidays kick off with warm weather, our local beaches and coastlines are beginning to buzz with activity. This year, seasonal lifeguards will play an important role in keeping our community and visitors safe at the popular beach.

Beachgoers are encouraged to listen to the expert advice given - to swim between the flags, surf outside of the flags, and avoid jumping in the ocean if alcohol has been consumed. While the beach can be a beautiful place to frolic freely, the ocean comes with some serious risks, and the Shire’s goal is to help manage those risks over summer.

Surf Life Saving WA is the largest provider of professional lifeguard services in the state. With a team of friendly and approachable folks, this season's beach lifeguards are ready to answer questions about safe water practices and help educate the community about beach safety.
