Caves Road will be closed for bridge works

UPDATE: Exact dates yet to be confirmed by Main Roads.

Please be aware that Main Roads will be undertaking emergency repair works to Bridge 253 Caves Road, Margaret River. Bridge 253 is the one that crosses Margaret River (Peirce Bridge).

It is anticipated the road will be closed at the bridge to all traffic.

Caves Road, Margaret River, is a sealed primary distributor servicing low-moderate volume of road users travelling at high speed. Caves Road is well known as a popular tourist road due to the multiple wineries and tourist attraction to the route.

Closing the road would likely have a major impact on traffic flow in the area, therefore the closure shall only be implemented for 7 days and will be publicly advertised by Main Roads WA via the following methods:
• Local Newspaper Advertisements; and/or
• Radio Advertising; and/or
• Social Media; and/or
• Variable Message Boards

Once the road closure is removed after 7 days, single lane alternate flow operation shall be utilised to separate the works from the trafficable lanes.
