Challenge One: Showcasing Water Wise Gardens

We've just launched our first Caring for Our Place challenge! Keep reading to find out how you can win a $200 Everyday Potted Plants gift card.

As we head into the warmer summer months, we are encouraging our community to consider their water use. With the average household using almost half of their water in the garden, we have launched a Facebook competition that aims to celebrate community members who have successfully created water wise gardens and to inspire others to think about the small, easy changes they can make in their own gardens.

How to enter

  • Simply comment on the Facebook post, explaining how you have created your water wise garden, what you’ve considered and any lessons you’ve learnt along the way.
  • You MUST also include a relevant photo or video in your comment.
  • Bonus points if you can share how your garden is holding up this summer!

Competition Terms & Conditions
Entries to the competition close at 8am on 10 February 2025. The winner will be selected by a panel of experts based on who best demonstrates how their garden is waterwise and any lessons they’ve learnt along the way. Entries need to also include a relevant photo or video with their submission to be eligible. The winner must reside within the Shire of Augusta Margaret River and will need to be able to provide a copy of ID with proof of address. Shire staff, immediate family members and members of Council are ineligible to enter. Your competition entry may be used for educational and marketing purposes. By entering the competition, you agree to our Terms and Conditions.

The winner will be announced on the Facebook post by the official ‘Shire of Augusta Margaret River’ Facebook page. Please be wary of spam accounts claiming to be the Shire or announcing that you have won. The Shire will never ask for your credit card details for a competition.
