Climate Action Saves Ratepayers $

In April this year the Shire joined with local governments across WA to commence an Energy Supply Agreement coordinated by the WA Local Government Association.

Results provided by WALGA for the period between April and September have confirmed savings to the Margaret River community of almost $75,000 and associated carbon reduction of 553 tonnes CO2eq.

The results prove that adapting to a carbon constrained economy has benefits not only for the planet but also for the budget bottom line.

The Shire is thrilled with these results which prove the merits of our Climate Action Plan and allow ratepayers’ money to be spent on other beneficial projects instead of electricity bills.
