Day use of shared recreational spaces

Using shared recreational spaces in our shire

We live in a beautiful part of the world and our region is home to many natural attractions, shared by both residents and people visiting the area. With a quickly growing population, demand for shared recreational spaces in our shire is rising.

What we are seeing is an increase in day use at many popular sites and our team is investigating additional facilities to help support day use areas. Our Rangers are doubling their patrols from dawn to dusk to make sure everyone is doing the right thing too.

If you’re using our parks, beaches or reserves, we kindly ask you to:
  • Tread lightly and respect the natural environment
  • Don’t litter, take your rubbish with you
  • Follow fire safety rules, keep our community safe

If you’re planning a camping trip these holidays, please remember to book a spot in advance. We have many affordable camping grounds and caravan parks in the region. Check them out at margaretriver.com

Let’s do the right thing together to make sure country is cared for and our community remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
