Exciting news for dog owners in Brookfield!
Following a review of the Shire’s Dog Exercise Areas and in response to the community’s feedback, an enclosed off-lead dog exercise area will be established at the Brookfield Reserve, with fencing to be installed later this month.Located near Brookfield Avenue and Leschenaultia Street, the enclosed area provides a space for dogs to be exercised ‘off lead’. The installation of the fence will give dog owners peace of mind while exercising their furry friends and provides a safe space to test dog control.
We’re expecting the enclosed area will create happier dogs, and happier humans as everyone enjoys the benefits social connection!
A dog-poo bag dispensers are already installed at the park, so owners can pick up after their pooches and keep the space clean.
Within the Shire, dogs must be always on a lead when in public spaces, except within a designated dog exercise area . A full list of beaches, parks, and reserves where dogs can be walked off-lead be found on the Shire’s website.
