BreastScreen WA’s free screening mammogram service is coming to Margaret River and will see a mobile clinic located at Gloucester Park Carpark behind the Margaret River HEART from Wednesday 11 January 2022 until Thursday 30 March 2023.
All women over 40 years with no symptoms are eligible for a free breast x-ray and are strongly encouraged to book an appointment.
Having breast screenings every two years is the most effective method for early detection and can significantly increase the chance of surviving breast cancer and reduce the amount of treatment required.
Breast cancer is the most common life-threatening cancer for women and with one in seven women in Australia developing breast cancer in their lifetime. Regular screenings are vitally important to increase the chance of a breast cancer being detected when it is too small to feel or be noticed.
Early detection is the best protection and finding a cancer at this early stage often means that the breast cancer is small and more treatable. Plus, it’s one of the best things women can do to look after their health and it only takes 20 minutes!
Make your free screening mammogram appointment online or call 13 20 50.
Dates may be subject to change. Participants are welcome to book in a different town or at any of BreastScreenWA’s permanent clinics.
