Greater Flexibility Provides More Affordable Housing Options

We welcome the State Government’s recent announcement which extends the ability for ancillary dwellings, commonly known as granny flats, to be built on lots less than 350m2.

In our Shire, we’ve already exempted granny flats from requiring planning approval, but more can be done to create fit-for-purpose affordable housing.

The Draft Local Planning Scheme proposes an increase in the size from 70m2 to 120m2, but we need your support to help make this happen! You can share your thoughts on Your Say.
