Locals Urged to Do Better at Poole Road Transfer Station Image: Poole Road Transfer Station household waste bin, overfilled with waste that cannot be accepted at transfer stations taken on 28 September 2023.

The Poole Road Transfer Station is being regularly misused, with users leaving furniture and other items that cannot be disposed of at this location.

Waste Transfer Stations allow rural residents who do not have a kerbside collection service, the opportunity to dispose of their household waste and recyclables that would otherwise be collected in the red and yellow lidded bins.

Transfer Stations cannot accept bulk waste such as furniture, building waste, fencing wire, waste oil and batteries, all which should be taken to the Davis Road Waste Management and Recycling Facility.

Users of the Poole Road Transfer Station are asked to check their load before leaving – if it couldn’t go in a kerbside bin, it can’t go to the Transfer Station. Please take building waste, fencing wire, waste oil and batteries to the Davis Road Waste Management and Recycling Facility which is open 7 days a week from 8am to 4pm (except Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday).

As a community facility with access for local residents only, community ownership is important. Please report offenders directly to the Shire’s Waste Services team by email to [email protected] or call (08) 9780 5677
