Augmented Reality Goes Live
The Shire of Augusta Margaret River and Creative Corner have launched an augmented reality (AR) experience to selected artworks on the Margaret River Art Trails. You can now experience 11 of the existing artworks in a whole new way, across all three of the current trails in Margaret River, Cowaramup and Prevelly.
Using your phone to scan QR codes along the trail will launch animations and 3D experiences on a range of artworks by the likes of Cara Sanders, Anita Revel, Brenton See, local group Artzability and more. This is an exciting new experience for arts enthusiasts, tech lovers, families looking for adventure and anyone who’s curious about unveiling the stories of our region.
The art trails, which were unveiled in May, have been well received by the community and local creatives and as part of this next stage you can watch the whale mural swim alongside you on the Margaret River Main Street, turn yourself into a cowara bird with colourful flapping wings and wonder at the Moon Haven girl as she comes to life in an unexpected yet beautiful way.
Locals, visitors and arts enthusiasts are encouraged to check out the trails by scanning a QR code from the streets, jumping online at margaretriverarttrails.com.au or following @margaretriverarttrails on Instagram and Facebook.
Margaret River Art Trails were developed by the Shire of Augusta Margaret River and Creative Corner, with funding from the Shire and the State Government’s Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and the South West Development Commission.
