New Structure Plan Approved for Lot 500 Wirring Road, Cowaramup

The WA Planning Commission (WAPC) have approved a new Structure Plan for Lot 500 Wirring Road, Cowaramup.

The WAPC always have the final say on any Structure Plan or Scheme Amendment, although the Shire’s planning team can make recommendations which the WAPC can choose to accept or dismiss. 

After listening to our community, we recommended to the WAPC that the Structure Plan for Lot 500 Wirring Road include:

• More public open space
• Additional areas of native vegetation to be protected 
• Developer contributions for future road improvements

Most of our recommendations were included in the approved Structure Plan, however some of the native vegetation in the middle of the site and adjacent to the western boundary will not be retained.
 
Changes can be made to Structure Plans throughout the approval process based on the assessment of the Department of Planning Lands and Heritage, which is why the Structure Plan looks different to the plan we presented to the community for feedback.
