The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is calling for community members to get their nominations in for the annual Volunteer Awards.
The awards seek to recognise the dynamic and vital role that volunteers play in enriching our community across the arts, community events, environmental causes, wildlife care, emergency services, sport and so much more.
This year’s celebrations will be held in May to coincide with National Volunteer Week, providing a greater platform to recognise the invaluable contribution of our community members.
In addition to the Volunteer of the Year Award and Youth Volunteer of the Year Award (for volunteers aged 12 to 25), we have introduced two new award categories – the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Volunteer Organisation of the Year Award. These additions aim to honour those who have dedicated their lives to volunteering and the organisations that have made significant impacts through their volunteer efforts.
Nominations close on Sunday 4 May 2025 and the winners will be announced at the Our Community Volunteer Celebration on Monday 19 May 2025, from 6pm to 8pm at the Nala Bardip Mia - Margaret River HEART. All nominees and community volunteers are invited to attend.
To find out more about the 2025 Volunteer Awards and to get a nomination form, click here or contact A/Community Development Officer Shannon Walker via email [email protected] or call 9780 5276.
Alternatively, you can pick up a hard copy nomination form from the Shire of Augusta Margaret River Libraries, Recreation Centres, Margaret River HEART, or Shire offices or download a digital version below.
The event is held in partnership with Arts Margaret River, Nature Conservation Margaret River, Mindful Margaret River, and the Margaret River Community Pantry. This initiative is part of the Shire of Augusta Margaret River’s Community Strategic Plan 2040, which promotes welcoming, inclusive, and healthy communities by supporting and valuing volunteers and community groups across the region.
