Get ready to party!
Pair'd Back - Margaret River Street Party is set to take place on Sunday, 17 November from 3pm to 7pm as a celebration for locals in the lead-up to peak season and as the closing event for the inaugural Pair’d Margaret River Region wine and food festival. As the grand finale to the Pair’d Margaret River Festival, this all-ages, free-to-attend event will bring local businesses and community members together to celebrate local flavour and our love of the region.
The Margaret River Street Party is also an opportunity to thank everyone - from local businesses and hospitality workers to tour operators and community members - all who play a crucial role in welcoming visitors to the region throughout the booming summer season.
For one day only, the heart of Margaret River will transform as the entire Main Street comes to life with music and entertainment for all ages. From the bottom roundabout at Tunbridge Street to the top roundabout at Wallcliffe Road, the Margaret River Main Street will become a local business, pedestrian and dance-friendly zone, closed to traffic. Community members are encouraged to walk, ride or park nearby while doing their shopping or grabbing their caffeine fix before the festivities get started.
Both locals and visitors are invited to come together and celebrate the unique offerings of our region. Commencing at 3pm with a Welcome to Country by Zac Webb and opening address by Shire President Julia Meldrum, the street party will feature two main stages of entertainment, highlighting local music alongside visiting headliners.
The Reuther Stage at Reuther Park will showcase an incredible lineup with performances from Margaret River’s own Sasha Seabourne Band and Nannup’s Lightnin’ Jack Duo, as well as visiting acts The Whitlams’ Tim Freedman and ARIA Award Winning House DJ, Grant Smillie.
The Skigh Stage in the Fearn Avenue Festival Precinct will host all local music acts including the captivating olive Mae, Diego de Camino, Luke Vecchio, and DJ and Percussion duo, LaLaLee, offering an afternoon filled with diverse live music for the whole family.
Local businesses will play a crucial role in the festivities, with popular spots like Morries, Tuckshop, Pearl's, Rhum Burgundy, Settlers Tavern and Elliott's Steakhouse setting up on the street to offer special festival menus and bites.
The Margaret River Farmers Market will host a pop-up in the town square, showcasing local produce and artisan products, with local food trucks activated throughout the street.
Families can look forward to a variety of kids' activities, including face painting, tarp surfing, Freedom Fairies, Salty Sketches interactive art and engaging crafts, ensuring fun and entertainment for families of all ages. Additionally, Settlers Tavern will host an outdoor service area and live music from ska Band Little Pedro from 3 to 7pm, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Shire President Julia Meldrum said the Street Party was a great way to celebrate everything that makes our region special.
“We have so many fabulous local businesses, amazing local produce, and a community spirit that is definitely worth celebrating,” she said.
“After receiving consistent feedback asking for another street party, we decided to collaborate this year with the Pair’d team to deliver a fun-filled community-focused event. I’m sure it will provide a pre-summer boost before our busiest time of year.”
