Pool set to reopen after refurbishment.
The Rec Centre and its pool were closed in late 2022 for a renovation to address the structural deterioration of the 25-year-old roof and refurbish facilities to improve overall accessibility. While the gym and creche reopened last month, a leak in the pool’s balance tank meant that access to the pool was delayed.
With repairs to the Balance tank complete, the pool has been refilled and water will now be chlorinated and heated. Water samples will then be sent to the Health Department late next week for testing and final sign off.
With the reopening date set, we’re able to offer an 8-week swimming lesson program to run from Monday 29 April. Registrations will open Tuesday 16 April via the Rec Centre website.
A free community celebration and pool party is also scheduled for Sunday 28 April, with more details to be provided soon.
