Rec Centre Pool Update

We are pleased to announce that a specialist contractor has been engaged to undertake repairs on the pool balance tank at the Margaret River Recreation Centre. However, we are still unable to confirm a date for the pool's reopening.

This follows last week’s news that while the remainder of the Rec Centre will reopen on Monday, March 25th, a leak in the pool's balance tank will delay the pool's reopening following a major refurbishment of the facility. The leak was not visible and was only detected when the Shire began refilling the pool in preparation for the reopening. Our previous update about the pool balance tank can be found in  this news article.

It is expected that the contractor should take about 2 weeks to complete the work. Following this, an additional 2 to 3 weeks will be needed to heat, treat, and have the pool water signed off by the Health Department.

Once we are able to confirm the reopening date, we intend to open enrolments for Term 2 swimming lessons, which we expect will run for 6 to 8 weeks. We also hope to make some announcements about a reopening party soon.
