Recreational Water Monitoring in the Shire

During the swimming season (November to May), the Environmental Health team conduct water sampling on behalf of the Department of Health.

This monitoring checks for levels of bacteria including Enterococci and Escherichia coli. 

The sites that are monitored regularly are:

• Hardy Inlet 
• Gnarabup Beach 
• Gracetown Beach 
• Flinders Bay 
• Blackwood River
• Margaret River (three separate sites)
