Council will consolidate its meetings and introduce a monthly Q&A Day.
Last night council agreed to transition from fortnightly to monthly meetings and will introduce Q&A days.
Consolidating the number of Ordinary Council Meetings (OCM) will increase the amount of time between meetings for Shire officers to turn Council decisions into action. It will also give Councillors more time to engage with the community, review reports and participate in information sessions.
The new arrangement includes the introduction of a monthly Q&A session, will be held the week prior to the OCM. The session will provide an opportunity for community members (and Councillors) to ask questions on upcoming agenda items.
It was also noted, should there ever be an issue that requires urgent attention a Special Council Meeting can be arranged.
The new approach will begin in April, with a schedule and more information available at the Council Meeting Dates website page.
