Decision to Further Review Play Equipment Renewal in Cowaramup

In response to community feedback, the Shire will be reassessing options to progress the renewal of the Cowaramup Hall playspace. 

The decision follows recent public consultation involving the release of two concept designs for the playspace renewal, where community members were asked to vote for their preferred design. 

Comments received through the consultation process have influenced our decision to reconsider options for the playspace renewal. 

The community has indicated the playspace concept designs originally budgeted for did not meet their expectations. 

We are listening to community feedback and will be going back to the drawing board to discuss other options, including the possibility of incorporating a nature play proposal presented by the South West Capes Lions.

A final decision on the Cowaramup Hall playspace renewal will be made later this year following endorsement of the Shire’s Leisure Plan.

The Leisure Plan will inform the development and management of recreation facilities and services over the next 10 years, including the extent of playground investment in Cowaramup.

Community members are encouraged to share their thoughts on the Cowaramup Hall playspace renewal through the draft Leisure Plan consultation, which will commence in the coming weeks.
