Sustainability Planning Officer, Katie Biggs Scoops National Award

Katie Biggs, the Shire’s Sustainability Planning Officer has been ‘Highly Commended’ in the Climate Champion category of the prestigious Cities Power Partnership Awards.

The Awards recognise the work of climate heroes in local governments across the country who are transforming Australia’s energy landscape – and Katie has secured her place as one of the nation’s leading lights in sustainability and climate action.

Katie’s work on the Shire's ambitious Climate Action Plan and ongoing drive towards Net Zero 2030 has been an inspiration throughout the Shire of Augusta Margaret River community. 

The project has already made a significant contribution to local emissions reductions and is on track to reach its corporate goals.

The Cities Power Partnership Awards celebrated outstanding work from local governments in fields including renewable energy, energy efficiency, collaboration, and innovation.
