Take Fifteen Minutes to Prepare your Bushfire Plan

Keep your loved ones safe in a fire emergency

Shire residents are urged to create a bushfire plan to keep themselves and their loved ones safe.

A bushfire plan is an outline of what you’d do if a bushfire occurs, and can help people avoid making last minutes decision that could prove deadly.  It considers
  • What would you pack?
  • What are your triggers to leave?
  • Where would you go?
  • How will you get there?

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES)  bushfire safety campaign ‘Got 15 Minutes to Burn?’  which encourages all Western Australians to take 15 minutes to  prepare a plan via My Bushfire Plan website or mobile application.

The My Bushfire Plan website guides users through the process of making a plan, and allows users to create multiple plans as well as share plans.

To create your plan, visit mybushfireplan.wa.gov.au or download the My Bushfire Plan app from the App Store or Google Play.

Please also remember, you should only stay if you are physically and mentally prepared to defend your property and have all the right equipment.
