Volunteers Protect Rendall Weir Reserve
Friends of the Rendall Weir Reserve recently held their end of year busy bee to help care for the river foreshore in preparation for the hot summer ahead. The hard-working group of volunteers removed annual grasses that had grown into native sedges and rushes, and removed other invasive environmental weeds like polygala and a giant agave plant! They also repaired and replaced tree guards to help protect the fragile new native seedlings over the busy holiday period.
A fantastic result was achieved, and the group’s efforts will help to protect the environmental and recreational values of this much loved reserve.
Thank you to all of our Friends of Reserve Volunteers for the work that you do caring for our local reserves.
