About Julia
Elected in 2017 Julia Meldrum grew up and was educated in Manjimup where her family were original settlers. Julia’s family has resided and holidayed in Augusta, Flinders Bay and Margaret River for over 90 years. Julia has lived in Cowaramup for over 20 years and recently moved to Augusta.
Julia served as Deputy Shire President from 2017 until October 2019 and again 2021 until October 2023. Julia is the first popularly elected Shire President in the AMR Shire and her term expires October 2027. Julia has a background in agriculture, auditing, hospitality and bookkeeping, and has also studied viticulture.
Julia has been involved in various grass roots community organisations and associations throughout the Shire. She is dedicated to representing her community and balancing the various demands and needs of such a diverse and vibrant community.
